Opening: Volunteer Firefighter - Continuously recruiting - No Closing date Description: Volunteer Firefighters are dedicated members of the fire department committed to servicing their community. Gem County Fire-EMS Volunteers spend extensive hours of training to become qualified to respond in a safe and professional manner to emergencies within the fire district, Volunteers are encourage to come to emergency calls 24/7 when called upon and available. Volunteer firefighters are required to attend fire drills twice a month for a total of 8 hrs minimum per month. Volunteers are expected to maintain any training requirements set forth by the department.
Requirements: 18 years of Age Valid Driver License Must be able to complete physical agility test and pack test yearly Live within Gem County Fire Protection District #1
Opening: PRN Paramedic - Continuosly recruiting - No Closing date Description: PRN EMT’s and Paramedics are dedicated members of the Fire-EMS department committed to servicing their community. Gem County Fire-EMS personal spend extensive hours of training to become qualified to respond in a safe and professional manner to emergencies within the Fire-EMS district. PRN employees are required to work 12 hour shifts monthly to maintain competency, and are also encouraged to on call time. PRN EMT’s and Paramedics are required to attend trainings twice a month for a total of 8 hrs minimum per month. Employees are expected to maintain any training requirements set forth by the department.

Gem County Fire and EMS currently has openings for our Reserve program. This is a non-paid position for anyone who is new to EMS and would like to expand their knowledge, training, and work toward a position with us at Gem County. While in the reserve program, you will get the opportunity to train with EMS professionals who will help prepare you for a career in Emergency Services.
The Requirements of the Program is a minimum of (2) twelve-hour day shifts a week for 6 weeks. We are looking for motivated individuals who would like to receive the skills needed to provide pre-hospital care to patients and grow their knowledge in an ever-changing and exciting field.
